We have been notified that the timetable of the 549 bus is to be changed. Transport for London (TfL) say:
To assist with improving reliability of the 549 bus service which runs between South Woodford station and Loughton station on Mondays to Saturdays between around 06:30 and 20:00, TfL is implementing a timetable change w.e.f. Saturday 4 June. The journey timings have been extended by up to an additional seven minutes.
The service is suffering from reliability problems and TfL has investigated a number of options to improve the situation. However, the route cannot be shortened and in the current financial context extra buses cannot be provided. Therefore extending journey times is the only available option within the current contract period.
An information leaflet will be made available to passengers. It can also be accessed via the web link www.content.tfl.gov.uk.
A new contract for the operation of this route is to be let by TfL which will commence on Saturday 11 March 2017. It is envisaged that the service would then run to a standard 70 minute timing for all journeys.
